Case Study – Dental Websites, Photography and Video
Bespoke websites taken to new levels.
The team at Dental Media recently completed a new website project for Dr Darren Bywater, a prominent dentist in the East Midlands region. In fact the overall project incorporates three new websites, one to cover the general side of the business, a second to cover dental implants in depth and a third for the specialist referral side of the business. Two websites are already live and the third will follow in the coming weeks.
All of the new websites are “high-end” but perhaps the main factor which really helps to differentiate from the dental competition is the high-quality photography and video which is incorporated; all planned and managed by the Dental Media in-house project team.
The website
The websites are designed to showcase the services of Dr Bywater and his team, particularly the exceptional quality of the facilities and services offered at his recently renovated practice in Allestree near Derby. It was important to capture how the 5 surgery facility and dedicated implant suite sets the practice apart from others in the area, together with the high-standard of services patients can rely on. So as well as detailing the wide range of treatments offered, the site also delivers user-friendly information covering exactly what new and existing patients can expect when joining the practice.
The Video
Generally, the quality of videos filmed for dentists varies considerably; from shoddy ‘DIY’ footage on a mobile ‘phone to the competent 2 minute overviews which now feature widely. However, you don’t often see something out-of-the-ordinary and which really grabs your attention. This was exactly the brief for this project – i.e. really eye-catching footage which engages the viewer and compels them to make contact with the practice.
So for this project our video producer developed a concept which steps away from the ordinary and follows patients through the practice, from arriving at reception, treatment and on to completion of their dental journey. In parallel we also see some of the background activities taking place; including 3D scanning and the use of CEREC to create same-day dental restorations. The Photography
Similarly to the video, the project required photographs which were different to the usual dental practice photography and also in keeping with the video work. Detailed planning was required to ensure that the photo shoot captured all of the images necessary, not just for one website but for three and to cover all of the treatments and facilities offered by the client. Several images underwent post-shoot processing to stylise them and ensure that they were as striking as possible. Summary
The project delivered by Dental Media was extremely well received by the client and his patients and colleagues – perhaps summed up by one comment “you’ve pushed the boundaries again; it’s exceptional”.
