Time and cost to get your social campaign running?

How much resource do I need to allocate to my dental social media marketing?

With customers now expecting to interact with brands via social channels like Facebook and Twitter and blogs being used as a primary mechanism for content marketing, there are clear and compelling reasons for dentists to incorporate these channels into their web marketing strategies.

So how much does it cost to set up and how much time do you to need to allocate to it to ensure it’s successful?

Cost to set up the main social channels?

The main social channels we recommend are Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to be used in conjunction with a customised WordPress blog integrated with your dental website. The social accounts are free to access and use if you wish to set these up yourself. However, we recommend a degree of customisation to personalise them and make them fully suitable for use in your marketing campaign. If you would like us to handle all of this for you, we can set up the following for £200 (+vat):

  • business Facebook page with customised header
  • Twitter account with customised background image
  • customised Google+ page

We will be pleased to link these from your website and also provide useful guidance on the how to use the accounts to best effect, including the use of “Hootsuite”, a free social media management tool, to manage your social broadcasting efficiently.

For £300 (+vat) we will build a fully customised WordPress blog and integrate it with your website – this will provide a password protected administration area where you can add new blog articles to help build up your website footprint (great for Google searches) and deliver new content for your users. Also remember that the dental blog articles provide an ideal source of content for you tweets and other social media posts. We will also provide free documentation on how to blog effectively and other “tricks” like linking your blog to your social channels automatically and gaining Google “authorship” status.

What resources do I need to allocate to my dental social media campaign?

This is a great question and one we are frequently asked. The answer is not as scary as most imagine. Around 2 – 3 hours per week is easily sufficient to write a blog article and make regular posts to Twitter, Facebook and Google+. We know of many practices that have absorbed this into their daily work rotas – not only is it very effective as a marketing tool but also good fun! However, if you simply don’t have time to look after it within the team, please talk to us about our fully managed blogging and social media services for dentists.

Summary

Active use of social media channels and content marketing using tools like a dental blog are now key components of a modern dental marketing strategy. As we’ve demonstrated, these tools do not cost much to set up and can be run effectively with just a few hours input per week – the entry barrier is low and the rewards high.
